Yellow Stained Marble Inlays In Coffee Table

Marble Table Inlay

QUESTION:

I just got this old coffee table set, its marble tops that I think used to be white and are now a brownish yellow from being stored outside I am guessing. I was just wondering if anyone knew if I could save this marble or should I just get something new to put it the tables? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This picture I found online is the exact same table I got, but this one is in much better shape. That's why I think the marble I have used to be white like this one.

ANSWER:

Depending on the size of the marble inlay, you may be able to find a standard marble tile to replace the one you have.

This may be the easiest route if you can remove the current marble without damaging the table.

The reason your marble is brown/yellow is probably because the previous owner applied a lacquer or other wood finish on the marble or possibly a wax.

You may be able to remove this using SCP: DEEP CLEAN Stripper/Degreaser.

If it's isn't a coating on the surface, but some type of stain, then follow the directions in the Removing Stains Manual for cleaning marble.

Good luck with the project!

Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
