QUESTION:
I have a white marble fireplace built in the late 1800's. It has a rust stain and discoloration from burning wood on the hearth. It also has some glue on it. What do I do?
ANSWER:
Deb, you may want to hire a marble cleaning professional experienced with statues, fireplaces and other more intricate installations to restore the fireplace if there is extensive soiling, staining, etc.
However, you may be able to clean it up yourself.
If the stains are old and deep, then you may have to call a pro, but it will be way cheaper for you to give it a shot yourself first.
