White Carrara Marble - Circle pattern?

QUESTION:
Our cabinet person installed a white carrara countertop in our master bathroom. However, it looks like it could be stained. It has several shaded circles on it. Isn't white carrara veined with no distant looking circles?
ANSWER:
"Distant looking circles"... Sounds more like etching to me than stains.
Marble is sensitive to acidic substances and it's fairly common if a glass or can or bottle of alcohol, soda, coffee is set on the surface it can create a "glass-ring."
Etching can also be caused by caustic alkaline cleaning products, which is why you should only use products made specifically for cleaning marble.
Etching will leave dull marks that are
lighter in color. They could have a ghost-like or "distant" appearance to them. And you may only see them when looking at an angle.
To remove etching use
SCP- Marble Polishing Paste.
If indeed you have stains (stains are always
darker than the marble color) then you'll need to follow the procedure outlined in the
Removing Stains Manual.
There isn't a cleaner to simply spray on to get the stain out. Stains occur when a substance absorb into the pores below the surface, so the special procedure is necessary.
Good Luck,
Ryan
