Wax Pencil On Tumbled Marble
QUESTION:
Hi there - I recently installed nice beige tumbled marble in my shower surround, and made the apparent mistake of using a red wax pencil to mark some of my cut. It seems that I'm unable to remove the traces left from the wax pencil now, as it just smears all over the tile.
I was thinking about using a product like Goo Gone, which *sounds* like it will do the trick as a de-greaser probably needed, but I'm a tad apprehensive about putting something like that on my lovely new tile. Can you offer any guidance on wax pencil removal?
ANSWER:
Acetone purchased from your hardware store should do the trick. Generally, you do not want to use cleaning formulations because you never know what's in them that may be damaging to natural stone.
For future general cleaning use
MB-3 Soap Film Remover and MB-9 Mildew Remover.
Hopefully, you won't need the mildew remover, but nonetheless, these products are formulated to be safe and very effective for cleaning marble and stone showers, tub surrounds, etc.
Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend

MB Stone Care is the most reliable and effective.
