Water Based Caulking & Wet Spots on Marble Countertop
(Ca.)
QUESTION:
I use a water base glue/caulking in installing a white carrara kitchen countertop.
How can I speed up the process of removing the wet spots that precipitate on marble?
ANSWER:
"Wet spots" on your marble kitchen countertop....?? Not sure what you mean by that.
If you are getting darker areas near where you used glue it may be because the glue has soaked into the marble and leached through to the surface.
This is not good... could be permanent since the stain is coming from underneath all the way through the marble.
You can almost always remove stains that occur from the surface following the procedures outlined in the
Removing Marble & Granite Stains ebook and it can also sometimes work for glue stains, but it may not.
Really no other option though except to tear out and start over.
Sometimes, you get lucky and the spots will evaporate, etc. and diminish and/or disappear, so you may wait a few days if you like, but the longer you wait the more difficult it will be to remove the stains on the marble countertop.
Good Luck,
Ryan
