Using Bleach on Marble Floors
QUESTION:
Can bleach be used to clean marble floors?
ANSWER:
Well, bleach will certainly clean the marble, but it will also damage and etch the marble. Etching makes the marble dull and discolored.
So, bleach is
not recommended to clean marble. A very dilute solution could be used to disinfect a biological mess (blood, feces, raw meat, poultry, etc.) but again, even a dilute solution may etch and repeated uses will eventually cause damage.
And regular cleaning with a marble-safe cleaner like
SCP: DAILY CLEAN Floor Concentrate or with
INTENSIVE Concentrated Tile & Grout cleaner will keep your floors very clean.
And the INTENSIVE is alkaline enough to disinfect, but not enough to damage the marble.
Good Luck,
Ryan
