Using Bleach on Marble Floors

QUESTION:

Can bleach be used to clean marble floors?

ANSWER:

Well, bleach will certainly clean the marble, but it will also damage and etch the marble. Etching makes the marble dull and discolored.

So, bleach is not recommended to clean marble. A very dilute solution could be used to disinfect a biological mess (blood, feces, raw meat, poultry, etc.) but again, even a dilute solution may etch and repeated uses will eventually cause damage.

And regular cleaning with a marble-safe cleaner like SCP: DAILY CLEAN Floor Concentrate or with INTENSIVE Concentrated Tile & Grout cleaner will keep your floors very clean.

And the INTENSIVE is alkaline enough to disinfect, but not enough to damage the marble.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
