Urine Stain On Crema Marfil Floor

by Kris
(Concord, Ca)

QUESTION:

Tile was just installed on bathroom floor. In front of the toilet there are a few splash stains in front of the toilet. It looks like urine. The surface has been cleaned but the splash stains are there. How do I clean these?

ANSWER:

Urine is acidic, so it will etch all calcite based stones (limestone, marble, travertine) causing dull and/or discolored spots.

This is a common marble maintenance issue and just fyi... sealing will not guard against it. They aren't actually "stains." Nothing has been absorbed. Rather a tiny bit of the surface has been removed.

Luckily etch marks can be removed using SCP- Marble Polishing Paste.

This is an easy to use compound specially formulated for this purpose.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
