Soap Scum On Marble Shower Floor

QUESTION:
We have a shower with marble sides and floor. The sides are easy to maintain. However, we are having a problem cleaning the soap residue off of the floor. We have tried many products (vinegar, bleach, bathroom cleaner) and nothing seems to get rid of the soap scum. I know it is soap residue because I can scrape my fingernail on it and feel it. We have used brushes, both stiff and soft, none of this seems to work. Any suggestions.
ANSWER:
Sounds like you tried everything... I imagine your marble is a rough hone or tumbled, because using vinegar, bleach and bathroom cleaner are all no-no's with marble. These products will corrode and etch marble making it dull and discolored.
Etching still occurs, but is not very noticeable on rough or tumbled surfaces however. Just saying that these products really shouldn't be used on any marble.
Well, soap scum is soft and if you scrape it with a finger nail most often you can get some off and that's how you know it is actually on the surface.
Also, scrubbing with brushes should take some of it off.
Now, you may have hard water, which can be much more difficult to remove.
The only thing I can recommend that will remove both soap scum and hard water is
PRISTINE Soap Film/Hard Water Remover.
Good Luck,
Ryan
