Shaving Cream Ring on Marble Vanity

by Dara Collins
(Virginia Beach, VA)

QUESTION:

It is an off white tone and has a ring where my son left a can of shaving cream. I can not get rid of the ring and to make it worse my husband tried to scrub it and it is now lightly scratched.

ANSWER:

The shaving cream has etched the marble. Etching occurs when an acidic substance contacts the marble. It is not a stain. It is a mark of corrosion... physical damage to the marble.

You can repair/remove the ring and the scratches by using MB-11 Marble Polishing Powder.

Also, if you want to learn how to properly protect, clean and maintain your marble and avoid these problems, then check out our Cleaning Marble Secrets Guide.

Good Luck,
Ryan
