Rough Marble Table Top

QUESTION:

I have a white marble table. I might be a little careless. Place some warm stuff on the table top. It got a little rough on that spot. Anyway to mend it? Please help!

ANSWER:

Well if the marble was smooth and shiny and is now dull and rough, then the "warm stuff" etched the marble.

Etching is corrosion caused by an acidic food, drink or substance. Heat alone would not typically cause this, but even if it did the solution will be the same.

You need to use a good marble polishing compound like SCP: Marble Polishing Paste.

Unfortunately, this paste is not available in Singapore so you'll have to contact a local stone warehouse or fabricator to ask about a marble maintenance product to repair etching that you can get locally.
