Removing Water Spots and Rings on Marble

QUESTION:
How do you remove water spots and rings from the surface of a marble table?
ANSWER:
You need to use a good compound like
SCP- Marble Polishing Paste, which is specially formulated for this exact purpose.
The rings and spots are not from water and they are not stains. They are caused by contact with acidic foods and drinks.
Marble is reactive with acids, so things like soda, juice, coffee, wine, etc. will corrode the surface leaving it dull and creating a spot.
Now, not every product labeled "marble polish" will work. Most are just topical dressings, so you need one for etching. I say this because the one recommended is not yet available in Canada.
But etching is simple to fix with the right product. Then you just need to use coasters, trivets, mats, etc. to guard against etching in the future. Sealing has nothing to do with and won't protect against etching.
Good Luck,
Ryan
