QUESTION:
I just bought a black marble table, a it has a sticker stuck on it. How do I get it off without damageing it?
ANSWER:
Good thinking to ask before acting with marble. Cleaning marble is not hard, but you can easily make a marble maintenance mistake and damage marble if you don't know the proper techniques and products to use.
First, peel off as much as possible by hand. Then soak with acetone. Acetone is pH neutral and won't damage your marble.
Soaking with acetone may be enough to remove the remaining sticker, but if not...
Use a razor blade at a low angle... push the blade into the sticker slowly to get under the sticker.
Don't scrape at it or use anything abrasive.
Work at it to get the bulk off until you are left with just a thin film of glue.
Go at it again with the acetone and a soft cloth until it all comes off.
Then clean the whole table with a good marble maintenance product like
STONE PLUS Cleaner that's safe for cleaning marble.
Good Luck,
Ryan
