QUESTION:
Not to long ago we had friends over and made ceviche which is a shrimp salad with lots of lemon juice. Well, needless to say lemon juice was spilled all over the table top, so now there are lemon stains and also nobody used coasters for their beers so I have beer and water stains... help this was my first marble table top!!! What do I use to remove the stains!!!
ANSWER:
Shoot Thelma! As you found out, acidic foods and drinks will etch (corrode) marble causing dull and sometimes discolored spots.
These are not "stains"... nothing is absorbed, rather the acid has eaten a bit of the marble surface away. So, there's no "cleaning" them.
Not to worry though....Etch marks can be repaired and the shine and color restored using
SCP-Marble Polishing Paste.
It's easy to use will remove most etch marks and light scratches. Though,if ever you have severe etching (very rough and dull) you'll need to hire a pro to resurface the marble.
Also, you should be using only marble safe products for cleaning, etc.
Good Luck,
Ryan
