Remover Adhesive Tape Residue from Marble Fireplace
QUESTION:
Our marble is dark green and has some adhesive residue from tape that dry-wallers used to cover the marble with plastic while texturing the walls. I don't know the name of the marble. What can I safely use to get the sticky residue off?
ANSWER:
Ahh... here's an easy cleaning marble question. Short and sweet... use acetone or mineral spirits and a soft cloth.
Acetone and mineral spirits are pH neutral and won't harm the marble at all.
Simple solvents are commonly used by stone fabricators and installers for cleaning marble and stone of glues and gunk.
Good Luck,
Ryan
