Plumber's Putty Stain on Marble Countertop

QUESTION:

How do I remove the dark staining caused by plumber's putty used when installing faucets on my new marble countertop?

ANSWER:

Ahh good ole' Plumber's Putty... works great to seal the faucet, but stains stone every time and should never be used.

But, not too big a worry. You can fix the problem with some simple marble maintenance.

To remove the marble stains follow the instructions provided in the Removing Marble Stains Manual.

Repeat a few times if necessary. And use 100% silicone to seal the faucets once the stains are removed.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
