Outdoor Kitchen Granite Countertop Size

QUESTION:

Hello, I am in Toronto Ontario Canada. IS there any issues with me using 3/4 granite vs 1 1/4 granite?

ANSWER:

No, there isn't any issue. Either size is fine to use whether for an indoor or outdoor kitchen.

The main reason people go with the thicker slab is to get a larger edge profile without laminating the edge, which you do NOT want to do outside.

The glue used to laminate edges will break down eventually in the weather causing a laminated edge to look crummy and break apart.

So, if you are fine with a thin edge profile, then go with the 3/4.... will be cheaper too!
