New Cultured Marble Vanity Top Stain

QUESTION:

I have a marble vanity in my bathroom. Someone splashed water on it and left it without drying it off. Now it looks as if it has left a stain. It is a darker spot that looks wet but isn't. This vanity is less than a month old. Please help me find an inexpensive way to fix this. Thanks you so much.

ANSWER:

Well "cultured" marble is a completely different animal than real marble and stone and is not our expertise, but cultured marble is very difficult to stain if the protective gel-coat is intact.

If it's only a month old, then the gel coat should be in perfect condition and plain water certainly won't stain.

So, I'd contact the installer and/or manufacturer of the countertop and see what might be happening and how to fix it.

A complete re-install may be appropriate if the current cultured marble countertop is not performing as it should.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products for cleaning marble, travertine & marble maintenance, cleaning granite countertops, granite sealers and keeping all your stone and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
