Marble Vanity Yellowing

QUESTION:

How do I get yellowing out of an ivory marble countertop?

ANSWER:

It depends on what is causing the yellowing. Used to be applying a wax or other topical coating to a marble countertop or floor was common.

Waxes and such are not recommended because they scuff easy, get dull quickly, need constant maintenance and eventually turn yellow.

So, if this is the case and the yellowing is over most of the surface, then you need to strip off the wax/coating using De-Greaser / Wax Remover / Stripper.

However, white marbles can have iron deposits and yellowing can occur (usually in irregular spots) if the marble is exposed to a constant water supply like a leak.

The water saturates the marble, contacts and rusts the iron deposits and then the rusty water bleeds to the surface.

This is most common on floors where leaks and floods occur more often.

Rust spots are difficult to remove, but you'll find complete step-by-step instructions in the Removing Granite & Marble Stains ebook.
