Marble Vanity Top Etching

by Kelly H
(Golden, CO)

QUESTION:

I have a Pacific Blue marble vanity top in my bathroom which is in perfect shiny condition, except the location where it appears the maid set down a bottle of toilet cleaner that was leaking (this is all we have been able to figure out). Now the area has an etched ring that is whiter than the rest of the marble. Is there anything I can do to improve the appearance of this?

ANSWER:

Kelly, you have diagnosed the problem correctly. The cleaner etched the marble. Hopefully the damage isn't too severe.

To remove the spot and restore the shine use this ETCH REMOVER / Marble Polishing Paste.

Just so you understand... the polish is the result of mechanical action... grinding, sanding, etc. and not a chemical application or spray. You'll have to work the MB-11 Polish on the countertop and buff it out, but it's great stuff... works wonders.

If ETCH REMOVER / Marble Polishing Paste doesn't do the trick, then the damage is severe and you'll need professional help to restore the surface.

Good Luck,
Ryan
