Marble Vanity Dye Stain

by Maria
(Maryland)

QUESTION:

How can I get a stain out of my marble top...it has two brown stains from drops of raspberry bath and body hand soap. The marble is cream color.

ANSWER:

You'll have to use a poultice.

Buy some talc/baby powder and 12% Hydrogen Peroxide. For the hydrogen peroxide try a beauty supply store or online... the kind at the drug store is only 3% and too weak.

1. Mix the powder and peroxide into a paste like peanut butter.

2. Apply to the stain about a 1/2 inch think.

3. Cover with plastic wrap and seal the edges with masking tape.

4. Let it sit for 24 hours then remove the plastic, but don't touch the poultice.

5. Leave the poultice on the stain until it is hard, then remove and clean with hot water.

6. Repeat this process until the stain is gone.

The peroxide absorbs into the marble to break up the stain and the powder then re-absorbs the peroxide and the stain.

This is the only way.

Good Luck,
Ryan

granite countertop cleanerI highly recommend MB Stone Care Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle) but found MB Stone Care is the most reliable and effective.
