Marble Table White Spots

by Elisha
(Dallas, TX)

QUESTION:

My dinning room table is marble and has a lot of stains. The marble is dark and the stains look white or grayish, kind of like old water stains. We've tried to wipe the table but the stains do not clear at all. What product can we try to clean these spots?

ANSWER:

Elisha, you have "etch" marks. These are marks of corrosion from contact with acidic food/drinks such as wine, coffee, juice, salad dressing, etc.

They are not stains. Nothing is absorbed into the marble. Etching is physical damage to the surface.

You'll need to use MB-11 Marble Polishing Powder to remove the spots and restore the shine. (follow link and go to countertop care)

Just follow the directions on the bottle. If this powder doesn't get them all out then the etching is too severe and will require a marble restoration professional to re-surface the table.

Good Luck,
Ryan

granite countertop cleanerI highly recommend MB Stone Care Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle) but found MB Stone Care is the most reliable and effective.
