Marble Table Clear Crack
by Tom
QUESTION:
Have a marble table that is approx. 7 years old. There is a crack in the clearcoat finish. What's the best method to repair. Thanks.
ANSWER:
Tom, I'm not really sure what you mean by the "clear coat finish."
If there is a coating on the surface that is breaking down and cracking, I'd suggest just stripping it off for good with a solvent.
Most topical coatings are no good for stone.
If the crack is indeed in the stone itself, then there are glues you can use to help repair it or keep it from getting worse.
But this is something for a marble maintenance pro to take a look at to determine what is really happening and how best to fix it.
Good Luck,
Ryan
