Marble Bathroom Vanity Water Spots & Dullness

by Mary
(West Virginia)

QUESTION:

I have a marble sink top in my bathroom. It came with the vanity we purchased from Lowes. It is getting badly water spotted and dull. When I bought it, there were no recommendations on what to do and what NOT to do to clean it. Therefore, I'm afraid I've used something on it that cause the dullness. We don't use hairspray or anything like that at that sink. We only wash our hands at it.

I have no idea of what type of marble it is. I don't know if it was sealed. At the time, I didn't even know it should be sealed. Grrrrr......

Is there ANYTHING I can use on it to get rid of the water spots and dullness? It makes me sick. :(

Thanks, Mary

ANSWER:

Mary, sounds like you have "etching," which is cause by contact with acidic substances or harsh cleaners.

You'll need to buy MB-11 Marble Polishing Powder to repair the damage and get the shine back.

And I'd suggest you get the Cleaning Marble Secrets Guide so you can learn all about marble, what you should and shouldn't do, how to protect, clean and maintain it properly with step-by-step solutions for just about any problem you could possibly encounter.

Good Luck,
Ryan

P.S. granite countertop cleanerI highly recommend MB Stone Care Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle) but found MB Stone Care is the most reliable and effective.
