Lost About Marble Maintenance

QUESTION:I just got a marble kitchen table. everyone is telling me you cant put a glass of water on it or a hot cup of coffee. Is this true? How do I use this table? I'm afraid I'm going to crack it. Do you clean it with just warm water? Please help!!!!! ThanksANSWER:Tracy, you are not alone. Many people are confused about marble and there is a TON of conflicting information online.True... you should use coasters, placemats and trivets. You should not set drinks and such on the marble, because marble is senstive to acidic foods and drinks and will etch. Etching damages the surface creating dull spots.
