Improve Shine On Marble Table Top

QUESTION:
My 100+ year old marble (traditional light & dark gray)table top is worn (scratched) from use. I do not need for it to be like new, but would like to improve the luster. How would I go about doing that?
ANSWER:
First, scratches and luster are two different issues. True, if you have small scratches over the entire surface, it will look dull.
The solution depends on the depth of the scratches and how large this table is. If these are very light scratches and/or the surface is just overall dull you can use
MB-11 Marble Polishing Powder to repair the scratches and improve the shine.
However, you must understand that the original shine is not the result of a polish, wax or spray. A shiny surface on marble is achieve through grinding and smoothing with diamond abrasives.
So, if your marble table feels rough, is very dull overall and is rather large (like a dining table) then I'd recommend you hire a marble restoration professional.
But since you aren't looking for perfect results, then the
MB-11 will do the trick for you. And if your table is small with light scratches and mild "dullness" then the MB-11 will make it look great.
Of course, once you restore it be sure to use ONLY marble safe cleaning products or you'll end up with a dull and damaged marble table again.
Good Luck,
Ryan
