How To Clean Marble Shower

QUESTION:
We have a marble shower and use it several times a day (which means we are using soap, shampoo, and body wash in it regularly). I just want to make sure: are you saying the best way to keep our shower clean is to use hot water and a sponge daily? Thanks.
ANSWER:
No, I've never made that recommendation for a shower. Although if you did do it
daily, it would keep your shower reasonably clean.
I've made the hot water and sponge daily recommendation mainly for a countertop if you also use a stone cleaner regularly (1-3x week). This is sufficient to keep the surface clean. You never want to use soap to clean because it will build up on the surface creating a dull haze.
For a shower, especially one that gets used many times a day the main problem will be soap build-up that can go unnoticed for some time and doesn't come off as easily as you think it should.
I'd recommend that you first use a squeegee to wipe excess water off the walls after every shower. Then you should clean weekly with a good marble cleaner like
Stone PLUS Cleaner.
Once in a while (monthly) you'll need to use
PRISTINE Soap Film Remover to cut through and remove the soap scum build-up.
This marble maintenance routine should keep your shower clean and looking good.
Hope that helps!

Ryan
