Honed White Marble Hearth Stained By Hot Embers

QUESTION:

I have a customer who has a honed Calcutta marble hearth. A hot ember landed on the hearth and she now has a brown stain that's not easily removed with soap and water. What would you recommend to remove the stain? Paula

ANSWER:

Burn stains can be tricky and very often the best advice is to seek help from a marble maintenance or restoration professional.

Polished marble is the most difficult to repair without leaving a blemish. Luckily your client's hearth is honed, so you have a good shot at removing the burn without needing professional marble cleaning.

You'll find complete step-by-step instructions how to remove burns from honed marble and any other marble stain in the Removing Stains Manual.

The procedures outlined in the manual are easy to do yourself and very inexpensive.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
