Honed Marble Vanity Top Stain

QUESTION:

Rested a plastic jar of petroleum jelly for about 8 hours on honed Carrera marble. Can not get ring stain off. made worse because I soaked dawn dish washing liquid overnight. Help

ANSWER:

The stain is probably not too deep yet, but regular cleaning methods won't work once the substance is into the pores.
