Grouting and Sealing Glass Backsplash Tiles

QUESTION:

what is the best grout and or/sealer to use for glass tiles on a kitchen backsplash?

The store where I bought my tiles claim that they have a stain resistant grout. Is there such an item on the market? Thanks, Joyce

ANSWER:

Several companies offer stain-resistant grout like Spectralock and Quartzlock. But a kitchen backsplash really isn't at much risk for staining.

Yes, it will be exposed to grease and grime around the sink and cook top, but unless you are a real aggressive cook you shouldn't have too many problems with stains on the kitchen tile backsplash.

Still, sealing the grout is a good idea, but only the grout. Glass tiles don't need sealing.
