Glue Stain On Marble Bar Top

QUESTION:
Just had this installed in kitchen w/bar area. When they installed the Corbels....with glue....there is now a dark stain where the glue...UNDER the marble bar, has seeped up. Will this fade, or do I need to do something?
ANSWER:
Marble stains from glue seeping through the entire thickness of the marble slab to the top surface can be problematic.
Sometimes they will fade as the glue cures over a week or two. However, they can be permanent.
You can try removing the stains by following the step-by-step instructions in the
Removing Granite & Marble Stains ebook.
Procedures in this ebook are excellent for removing stains that occur from a substance absorbing into the marble from the top surface.
But when the marble is essentially saturated with a substance that has absorbed from the bottom and wicked it's way to the top success is hit and miss.
You may remove the stains partially or even completely, but since the glue and stain is originating from underneath the stain may just return as more of the glue seeps to the surface.
I'd hold back final payment until you resolve the issue. Of course, if the stains don't fade and cannot be removed, then it's on the installer to replace the countertop.
Good Luck,
Ryan
