Glass Ring on Marble Coffee Table
QUESTION:
I have two rings on my marble coffee table, from wine, I think. How can I get it out?
ANSWER:
Marble is sensitive to acidic food and drinks like wine, soda, coffee, juice, etc., so you always want to use coasters.
If wine gets on the marble, it will "etch" the marble... and once etched it can also stain much easier.
The acid in the wine corrodes the shiny marble surface exposing the more dull raw marble beneath.
You say you have "glass rings" which tells me that you have only etching and probably no staining.
In that case, you need to use a marble polishing compound. I like
SCP- Marble Polishing Paste the best.
If however, the rings are darker than the marble and the wine did stain, you have two separate problems with two separate solutions.
In this case, you'd need to remove the stains first following instructions in the
Removing Stains Manual.
Once the stains are gone, then use the Paste.
