Getting Power, Gas & Water to Outdoor Kitchen

by Mike
(Surprise, Arizona)

QUESTION:

My design for an outdoor kitchen is to have electrical, natural gas and water. I will have a concrete pad. Can I bring in all three up through the concrete in the same place or do they need to be separated by some distance? I plan to protect the gas with a PVC sleeve. Do I need one for the water and electric. I am using electrical PVC for the electric.

ANSWER:

Mike, really that is a question for you local building code department.

I'd suggest you consider the possibility of having to make a repair to any these utilities. It may be easiest to build them all right next to each other, but it may not be so advantageous if you have to service one or the other.

But again, call your local building department for the answer.

Good Luck
