Does Hairspray Damage Marble

QUESTION:Does hairspray mist hurt the marble floor? My husband uses a lot of hairspray and it sticks to everything, will it damage our new marble floor?ANSWER:Hairspray will certainly coat and build up on every surface if not cleaned well and regularly. I recommend using SCP: DAILY CLEAN Floor Concentrate.And it could etch the marble making it more dull if the hairspray is at all acidic. Now, if the marble is honed or tumbled you are not likely to notice any etching unless the hairspray tends to fall in one particular area. What I mean is that the spray will drift through the air and settle on the floor in a somewhat even and wide pattern. So, the biggest problem is probably the build up. I'm assuming the marble is honed since it's in a bathroom where polished marble would be very slick.
