Damaged Marble Bathtub

QUESTION:
How can I restore a marble bathtub due to using Ajax and brillo at different times which caused the marble to "come off 'the tub?
ANSWER:
Based on your description of the problem, I'm guessing you have a "cultured" marble tub and not a real marble tub.
You can certainly damage and dull polished marble by using the wrong cleaning products, but when you say the marble has 'come off' I'm thinking you ruined/removed the protective gel coat and coloring on the cultured marble.
A real marble bath tub is very expensive and usually a custom job. Cultured marble tubs however are very common.
If you have cultured marble, then you need to replace the tub. Once you scratched, damaged and removed the protective layers, you really can't restore it and even if you could, it'd probably be cheaper to just replace it.
Now if you do have a real marble tub, then most likely what you have are etch marks from using the wrong cleaning products.
Common household products will damage marble corroding the surface layer and ruining the polish. The etch mark(s) will be dull and lighter than the rest of the marble.
If you have etch marks, then you'll need to use a good marble polishing compound like
SCP- Marble Polishing Paste.
It's easy to use and will bring the color and shine back to etched marble.
Good Luck,
