Coffee Stain on Marble Countertop

QUESTION:

Our coffee machine leaked coffee on our white honed marble countertop. It is a big brown blotch that won't come out with soap and water. I'm not sure how long the stain was there before I discovered it since it was hidden by the machine. Any suggestions on how to remove it?

ANSWER:

Honed marble is more prone to staining than polished marble, but polished marble in the kitchen is no good.

If you get to a marble stain right away, you can clean it with a good spray safe for cleaning marble, but once it absorbs topical cleaners can't get to it and you'll have to use a special procedure to get the stain out.

Good news is that you most likely will be able to get it all out, but you may have to repeat the process a few times.

You'll find complete step-by-step instructions in the Removing Stains Guide.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective.
