Cleaning Marble Vanity Top Stain
QUESTION:
How do I clean my antique marble vanity top which is somewhat stained?
ANSWER:
Well, it depends on what kind of "stain" you have. A true stain is darker than the marble and is caused when a substance is absorbed into the marble.
Etching is a different blemish that is often mistaken for a "stain." However, with etching nothing is absorbed. Etching is caused by contact with acidic food or products or from harsh cleaning products.
Etching causes
lighter dull spots sometimes called "water-spots."
To repair remove etch marks you'll need a specialized product like
Stone Care Marble Polishing Paste. Easy to use and will restore the color and shine and get out light scratches.
If you have a true stain, then spray and wipe cleaning products won't get it out because it is below the surface.
Stains can be removed from marble, but the only way to do it takes a simple multi-step procedure. You'll find complete step-by-step instructions in the
Removing Stains Manual.
