Cleaning Marble Surface Yellow Stain

by Moh'd Fatayer
(Jordan)

QUESTION:

How can I remove yellow spot on natural marble that due to using toilet cleaner containing Hydrochloric Acid? The type of Marble is Italian called Kararh.

ANSWER:

The acid in the cleaner has etched the marble causing the dull and/or discolored spots called "etch marks."

The solution depends on if the marble is polished or a non-polished finish (honed, tumbled).

If polished, a good marble polishing compound like SCP- Marble Polishing Paste will restore the shine and color.

However, if the marble is honed, you'll need to follow the step-by-step instructions in the Removing Etch Marks Manual.

And in the future, use only products specifically formulated for use on or around marble.

Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
