Cleaning Marble Shower Soap Scum

QUESTION:

How do you remove soap scum stains on a marble shower floor?

ANSWER:

You may read to use a homemade remedy of dilute ammonia and water solution, but this is not good for regular use. It will work to remove the soap scum, but the ammonia will eventually etch and dull the marble.

Marble cleaning requires the use of products made specifically for marble or you will get dull and damaged spots, etc.

Soap scum is particularly tenacious. Even with all that water washing the soap away it still builds up on the walls and floor.

And the typical stone or marble cleaner will not be potent enough to remove soap scum.

So, what you need is a marble cleaner made especially for cleaning soap scum and the best we've ever used is this Hard Water / Soap Scum Remover.

Spray on and let it sit for 10-15 minutes and then scrub with a soft-bristle brush. Repeat if you have a lot of build up.

Once you've completely cleaned the surface it won't be so difficult to keep soap scum from developing with frequent light use of this product.
