Care/Maintenance of Antiqued Granite in the Kitchen

QUESTION:
My client is purchasing Arctic Cream granite and is having it antiqued or possibly just honed. We are trying to find out how the care and maintenance differs from polished to honed to antiqued finish on the granite.
ANSWER:
For granite the difference in care and maintenance between honed and polished isn't much (unlike marble where there are distinct differences).
The biggest concern is to make sure it is sealed well since honed granite is more susceptible to staining than polished.
I'd recommend using
SenGuard or Stone Sentry sealers.
Other than that, no real difference. If it was a dark color, then a honed surface would show fingerprints much more than a polished surface.
And a polished surface is just slightly easier to clean... I mean the actual process of wiping it clean and not that honed/antiqued gets dirty easier.
Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
