Bring Back Shine on Worn Star Galaxy Granite

by S M SMITH
(Nottinghamshire,UK)

QUESTION:

My star galaxy granite work tops look dull with a hazy gray look, how can I bring the new deep black shine back.

ANSWER:

Was the granite polished to begin with? Honed black granite will look dull and gray.

If the surface is uniformly as you describe then it's highly likely they were never polished and would require a professional using diamond abrasives to make them shiny and polished.

Of course, if a sealer was applied then if may be the sealer that has dried on the surface. A sealer should not be applied to this granite. It is unnecessary since they are essentially stain-proof naturally.

If this is the case, then you'll need to strip the sealer with methylene chloride.

I'd suggest calling in a professional to take a look and see what the real problem is.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle, MB) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective and cheaper too!
