Blue Dye Marble Stain

by Jill
(Plainview, NY)

QUESTION:

Blue dye from a children's plastic toy leaked onto my white marble vanity leaving blue stains everywhere. How can I get the stains out? Bleach?

ANSWER:

Diluted bleach or hydrogen peroxide can be good to remove surface stains, so you can try that first.

These chemicals are NOT recommended for consistent or regular use, though since they can etch marble in excessive doses or concentration.

But chances are that the stains are below the surface and no amount of scrubbing or rubbing with any cleaner will get them out.

The good news is that most marble stains can be removed....

However, removing marble stains requires a multi-step procedure that varies depending on what actually stained the marble.

You'll find a complete explanation with step-by-step instructions in the Removing Stains Manual.

Good Luck,
Ryan

I highly recommend Stone Care Pro Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle) but found Stone Care Pro is the most reliable and effective.
