Best Marble Cleaning Products

QUESTION:

How can I get rings and stains out of my kitchen and bar marble countertops and restore the shine?

ANSWER:

The "rings" are from acidic drinks that have etched (corroded) the marble surface destroying the polish and causing a dull, light spot that looks like a stain. You need to use coasters, cutting boards, trivets, etc. to prevent etching.

This is a common problem with marble and all calcite-based stones like travertine and limestone. They are reactive with acids (fruit juice, alcohol, soda, coffee, etc.) and the acid eats into the marble. It's physical damage to the surface. So you can't "clean" it.

To restore the shine and remove the spot you'll need to work the area with a polishing powder. I recommend MB-11 Marble Polishing Powder ... click link and look under "countertop care."

You may find a "marble polish" at your local hardware store, but most of these are just a topical dressing not designed to remove etch marks. MB-11 (all MB products for that matter) is the best I've used. If it doesn't do the job, then you'll have to call a marble restoration professional to resurface your countertops.

Good Luck,
Ryan

granite countertop cleanerI highly recommend MB Stone Care Products to maintain all your marble, stone and granite countertops and floors in optimal condition. I've used other good products (Stone Tech, Miracle) but found MB Stone Care is the most reliable and effective.
