Are These Etch Marks

Marble glass-ring etching
QUESTION:
Hello, I ordered some etch remover from www.mystonecare.com and I'm very disappointed because it didn't work. Please see the attached pics and explain to me what went wrong? I followed directions via the paper that was included w/ product and implemented directions. Please advise, thanks.
ANSWER:
Yes, those appear to be etch marks caused from contact with an acidic substance.
I'm curious why they all seem to be the same size and scattered all over. It doesn't matter in order to repair the problem, but obviously you should stop setting whatever it is that has been causing this on the marble.
I can't say why the other company's product didn't work. We've never had a reason to try it.
I can assure you that the product we recommend for removing etch marks
SCP: Marble Polishing Paste definitely does work.
However, if these etch marks are severe... meaning very dull and rough to the touch you may need to hire a marble maintenance professional to re-surface the marble.
No etch remover can repair severe etching. Only a professional can by grinding away the damaged stone and re- polishing marble.
Good Luck,
Ryan
